In a way, this is actually hopeful. The tension we see now is from a breakup, and not simply the whole world going down the toilet.

If it wasn’t for the fact the predatory thugs are holding all the nukes, I might even feel optimistic about the rest of the civilized world moving on.

Of course, if you are correct, an inevitable outcome will be Calexit (Californian secession) or the less optimistic USA civil war 2.0.
